It's time to stand up STRONG. . .with MX Amber St. James
Written by none other than MX Amber St. James…
With the great support of my amazing designer Sierra Mitchell and the stunning photographic eye of Shiloh Valdez I present to you the first few photos in a photo series where we will be re-imagining white Disney queens as a BEAUTIFUL BLACK DRAG QUEEN. This sparked from the immense amounts of outrage over #blackariel.
So many little black children grew up with films and representation that never TRULY catered to them or that uplifted them and made them take pride in their beautiful and magical black identity. . .
Well as they say when you don't see the representation MAKE IT. . . and I am here to be the representation I needed as a black queer youth.
If they had a problem with ONE white queen turning black; they gonna hate me.
We will be doing this series FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS UNTIL FEBRUARY (when I will be revealing a really fun surprise for black history month)
So stay on the lookout for the next set of photos in our photo series NEXT Month.
